Could Liverpool youngster Adam Lewis step-up and provide protection at left-back for Andrew Robertson?

Jason McAteer has backed Liverpool youngster Adam Lewis to ‘easily’ replace the now-departed Alberto Moreno at the club next season.
Andy Roberton is Jurgen Klopp’s main man at left-back, but the German does need some cover for the Scotsman following the release of Moreno last month.
Teenager Lewis has been a part of Liverpool’s pre-season plans and if he continues to impress then he could just fill that void left by the Spaniard, who used to earn £65k-a-week during his time at Anfield [Spotrac].
Speaking to Sky Sports News (17/07/2019 at 5:30 pm), former Republic of Ireland international McAteer backed Lewis to challenge for that second left-back spot.
“There are areas you can improve on,” McAteer told Sky Sports News. “We always feel we can bolster the squad with more numbers, but we have some fantastic young kids coming through. Rhian Brewster’s going well in pre-season. He has shown his worth already. Looks the part.
“You have got Adam Lewis at left-back who can easily slot in there with Moreno’s absence. There are some good youngsters coming through.”

It remains to be seen what Klopp does in that area of the pitch because given Liverpool’s hectic schedule, and his demanding system, Robertson will need cover.
If a player like Lewis can step up then it’ll save Liverpool a lot of money in the transfer market, and mean that another academy player is coming through the system, which will no doubt please supporters.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is proof that Lewis can make it because he came through the Anfield ranks as a teenager and now he is one of the best fullbacks in Europe.
