Mark Warburton’s Glasgow Rangers side have prepared for their Scottish Premiership return by making nine signings.

Jason Holt believes that the arrival of nine new signings this summer has inspired the players that were part of Rangers’ promotion-winning side from last season to raise their game, The Scottish Sun reports.
Ahead of their return to the Scottish Premiership, the Gers have made several high-profile additions to the squad while also adding depth to the areas where they were perhaps previously vulnerable.
And Holt has suggested that the increased levels of competition within the team have seen those who helped get the side back to the top table rise to the challenge.
“We have brought in new players and the level has been really high. That will result in standards rising,” he told The Scottish Sun.

“I think the players who were here last season have taken it up a notch.”
Despite an extremely promising first year at Ibrox, the 23-year-old will know that he is arguably one of the players that has the most to prove this year given the signings that have been made.

The likes of Joey Barton, Jordan Rossiter, Josh Windass and Matt Crooks will all be rivalling the former Hearts man for one of the places in the Light Blues’ midfield.
But if he maintains the form he showed last year, and still cannot get into the team then that will surely mean that Warburton’s men have the kind of quality within their squad to mount a serious title challenge.
