Jason Holt came back into the Glasgow Rangers side for their most recent game, and hopes he has earned more chances at Ibrox.

Holt went into the last international break still awaiting his first Scottish Premiership start of the season, with Graham Dorrans and Ryan Jack forming a decent partnership in the middle of the park for the Gers.

However, Jack’s suspension meant that the 24-year-old’s wait for a league start came to an end when Rangers travelled to St Johnstone on Friday night, and he undoubtedly impressed as the Light Blues came away with an emphatic 3-0 win.
And Holt expressed his delight at being given the chance to make an impact, and suggested that he hopes that he has given Caixinha something to think about ahead of their trip to Hampden Park on Sunday.

“I hope [I can stay in the team]. All along when I have not been playing I have been biding my time and all I could do was work hard in training and try and impress the manager and be ready when I get my chance,” he said, as reported by the Evening Times.
“I came on in a couple of games in the last few weeks and got my start [on Friday]. I was delighted. Hopefully it gives the manager a headache selection wise.
“I will just continue to work hard and see where I get. Jacko and Dozza were doing extremely well so I just had to bide my time.”
It was Holt’s wonderful assist that led to Dorrans scoring Rangers’ third on Friday, as he pulled off a brilliant turn to create some space before drilling the ball across the box for his teammate to run onto.
And after impressing when brought on in the latter stages of their win over Hamilton before the international break – winning the penalty that led to the Gers’ fourth – there is undoubtedly an argument to suggest that the former Hearts man would be unlucky to lose his place at the weekend.
