Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers are back in action tonight, and the Ibrox manager should start Jason Cummings, not Alfredo Morelos.

Alfredo Morelos is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership, but the Rangers star did not play well against Hibernian at Ibrox at the weekend.

The Colombian striker played for the entire 90 minutes of the Scottish Premiership game last Saturday afternoon, as Graeme Murty’s side lost 2-1.

Rangers manager Murty himself recently admitted to The Daily Record that the 21-year-old has been affected by speculation over his future following a bid from Beijing Renhe, and it would be wise of him to take the youngster out of the firing line against Partick Thistle tonight and include Jason Cummings in the starting lineup instead.

Cummings joined Rangers on loan from Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old striker’s performances for the Gers so far have been encouraging, and the Scotland international also scored the winner against Ross County away from home in the league last month.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on January 24, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Although Partick are at home this evening, they are struggling for survival in the Scottish Premiership at the moment, and Rangers should feel confident of winning.

Rangers manager Murty should start Cummings in order to give the 22-year-old the chance to score a couple of goals and increase his confidence.
