Rangers produced a superb performance on Sunday afternoon as they beat Old Firm rivals Celtic 2-0 at Ibrox.

The Gers lost their last game against Celtic with a 2-1 defeat in March, but were at least looking for a second straight Ibrox win over Celtic having beaten them 1-0 in December.

This performance was arguably even better, and they took an early lead as James Tavernier’s left-wing free kick missed everybody and ended up in the bottom corner of Scott Bain’s net.

Rangers were superior throughout and pressed home their advantage in the second half, with Scott Arfield slotting home after Jermain Defoe had dummied Glen Kamara’s pass.

Rangers fans, players and staff will have spent almost 24 hours celebrating the win, and one ex-Gers player was in great spirits too.

Nottingham Forest striker Jason Cummings has rarely hidden his love for Rangers, and joined the club on loan under Graeme Murty back in January 2018 before returning to England.

On Sunday, Cummings took to Instagram to post photos alongside goalscorer Arfield and midfielder Ryan Jack, celebrating Rangers’ latest Old Firm win.

After a loan spell at Luton Town, Cummings will be looking for a new club again this summer, but his dream of a move back to Rangers seems hugely unlikely – even if he’s still visiting Ibrox.
