Nottingham Forest boss Aitor Karanka decided to loan out Jason Cummings at the start of the season.

Lee Tomlin’s impending arrival at Peterborough United is likely to seal Nottingham Forest loanee Jason Cummings return to City Ground.
Posh boss Steve Evans confirmed yesterday that Tomlin would be coming in at the Abax Stadium in January, which suggests Forest loanee Cummings’ days are numbered.
Evans has already admitted that Posh are contemplating Cummings’ future at the club, with the loan spell not working out how either Forest or Posh had hoped.
Although the Scottish striker made a blistering start in League One, his form has slowed badly in recent months.
Cummings has now slipped down the pecking order at Peterborough, and a return to Forest looks almost inevitable.
Posh are unlikely to be able to fund the wages of both Cummings and Tomlin at the same time, and they may feel that the former is now surplus to requirements.

Peterborough already have Ivan Toney, Matt Gooden and the recently recalled Matthew Stevens competing for places up-top, and with Tomlin arriving, there appears to be very little room for Cummings.
If Cummings does return to Forest it will be interesting to see what Aitor Karanka decides to do with the forward.
Cummings may not have done enough out on loan to force his way back into Forest’s plans, so another move in January looks a possibility.
