Glasgow Rangers have signed Jason Cummings, with the striker arriving at Ibrox on loan for the rest of the season.

Jason Cummings has told Rangers’ official website that he is looking forward to playing alongside Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox, suggesting that the Colombian is the kind of player he would like to work with in a partnership.

Cummings became the Gers’ third signing of the January transfer window, with the club confirming on their official website that the Nottingham Forest ace has arrived on loan for the rest of the season with the Scottish Premiership side having an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.

The news will undoubtedly leave the Ibrox faithful excited at the prospect of a partnership between Cummings and Morelos, who is the division’s top goalscorer, with 10 goals already following his summer move. And Cummings suggested that he is as excited as the supporters will be about working with Morelos.

“That will be good and hopefully I can play up there with him. He looks like the type of player I’d like to play with,” he told the club’s official website.

“He likes a goal himself, he’s strong, he’s young and I could see us linking up well.”

Cummings had an excellent record before his move to Forest, and Graeme Murty will be hoping that he can recapture that form and help the Gers put together a strong second half of the season.

It will not be easy for the 22-year-old as he is still awaiting his first goal in the top flight having spent most of his time with Hibernian in the Scottish Championship.

But if he can strike up a good partnership with Morelos during the coming months, you would imagine that finding the back of the net should not be a problem for the Gers’ latest signing.
