Jason Cummings, who had a loan spell at Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers and was seemingly overlooked by Gers manager Steven Gerrard this summer, was reportedly wanted by Sunderland before his loan move from Nottingham Forest to Peterborough United.

Much was expected of Jason Cummings when he moved to Glasgow Rangers on loan from Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window, but the former Hibernian striker did not have a great time at Ibrox.
Having scored just two goals in 15 Scottish Premiership appearances for Rangers, according to Transfermarkt.com, Cummings was overlooked by Liverpool legend and new manager Steven Gerrard – who was appointed the Ibrox club’s boss in the summer – for a permanent signing
After all, if Gerrard wanted Cummings back at Ibrox, he would have done it by now, given that the former England international has signed a lot of players already, including Jon Flanagan and Scott Anfield.
Sunderland wanted to sign Cummings this summer, according to The Northern Echo, but the Black Cats – who will play in League One next season after getting relegated from the Championship – have missed out on the Scotland international striker.
As announced on Peterborough United’s official website, the Posh have signed the 22-year-old striker on a season-long loan deal from Championship club Forest.
Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony has given his take on Cummings on social networking site Twitter, and he seems to rate the former Hibernian striker highly.
