Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have two very good strikers, but can they play as one? Jason Cummings reckons so.
Speaking to The Scotsman, Jason Cummings has said that the prospect of him and Alfredo Morelos operating in a two-pronged attack for Rangers is an “exciting” prospect that will worry opposition defences.
The Gers’ hitmen started up front together for the first time in Sunday’s 6-1 demolition of Ayr United, with Cummings, a January signing from Nottingham Forest, scoring once and Morelos bagging himself two.
Fans of the Ibrox club would love to see those two form a devastating partnership up top, even if Graeme Murty’s successful experiment at the weekend did come against a Scottish League One side.
Nevertheless, Cummings is adamant that he and his Colombian team-mate can do damage against more formidable defences.
“I can see us playing together and causing defenders problems,” he told The Scotsman.
“I can’t see many defenders looking at us two up front and thinking they are going to have an easy game. It’s exciting anyway.”
That was Cummings’s second goal for Rangers since joining on loan from the English Championship side, but fans will be desperate to see him make an impact in Premiership games.
The former Hibernian marksman had a superb record with the Leith side, but that was when they were a Scottish Championship team and time will tell how he adapts to life in the top flight.
