Glasgow Rangers loanee Jason Cummings scored his first goal since completing his Ibrox move.

Jason Cummings has told Rangers’ official YouTube channel that Graeme Murty was delighted with the Gers side after their victory over Ross County on Sunday, and the striker shared what the manager had told him before his introduction into the game.

Rangers moved themselves back up to second in the Scottish Premiership as they claimed a 2-1 win to make it three consecutive victories over Owen Coyle’s side this term.

And it was Cummings who they ultimately had to thank as he marked his second appearance for the Gers by coming off the bench with just over 10 minutes to go and scoring the goal that would prove to be the winner eight minutes from time.

And after the game, the Nottingham Forest-owned forward suggested that Murty had successfully predicted the impact that he would make as he came onto the field.

“He was delighted. The main thing is the three points,” he told Rangers’ official YouTube channel, when asked about Murty’s post-match reaction.

“You come up here, and it doesn’t really matter how you get it. He was delighted. He said to me before I was going on that I was going to score, so he was right.”

With Cummings a player who seems to be at his best when he is high on confidence – though he also does not seem to struggle to find some confidence by any means – Murty’s words before his introduction may have done him the world of good.

And he has justified that faith by earning the Gers the three points that moves them back up to second and means that they go into their Scottish Cup clash with Fraserburgh on Wednesday having won three of their last four games.
