Jason Blunt has told LUTV that he is particularly impressed by Clarke Oduor and Jamie Shackleton’s forays into Leeds United’s Under-23 side.

The Leeds starlets have been prominent figures for United’s youth side this season, and both started the 1-1 draw with Bristol City at Elland Road last time out.

Blunt, the Under-23 coach, works with plenty of talent on a day-to-day basis, but the 39-year-old shared who has been standing out for him when asked by LUTV.

He said: “The young lad Clarke Oduor has done very well. He’s a left-footed lad, good on the ball and technically good. He can play in a variety of positions and he’s done well.

“Jamie Shackleton, another young Under-18, is busy. He likes to play off the front two, but in and around the group they’re all making good progress.”

Blunt’s side take on Bolton Wanderers’ Under-23 outfit away from home tonight. Leeds’ U-23 sit eighth in the 10-team Development League.

The Whites have not won since a 5-3 victory away to Bristol City in August, with United drawing three – all of which ended 1-1 – and losing once in the four games since then.

It will be interesting to see if Amadou Haidara faces Bolton. Haidara joined the club on deadline day, according to his Instagram post, but no official announcement from the club made the move somewhat mysterious.

Before long, it was thought that Haidara’s claims were a mere hoax, but his presence at the club was unofficially confirmed when he appeared in last week’s U-23 draw with Bristol and he may figure again this evening.
