The Whites’ development squad coach believes the pair have set a great example to the club’s youngsters.

Leeds United development squad coach Jason Blunt has told LUTV that exiled senior stars Toumani Diagouraga and Luke Murphy have set a great example to the club’s youngsters.
Diagouraga and Murphy were both been named by Blunt in the Whites’ Under-23s side to face Bolton on Wednesday evening, with the former player scoring in the game.
However, the former Brentford man has not played a minute of competitive senior football under Garry Monk since playing the full 90 minutes in the 3-0 defeat to QPR on the opening day of the season.

Murphy, meanwhile, has only featured in the EFL Cup, with his 58 minutes in the win over Luton Town his only action of the season.
Despite that exile from the first team, Blunt has admitted that he has been pleased with what he has seen from the pair in their training with the development squad, and believes their attitude and their situation can provide a great example to the club’s young stars.

The development coach told LUTV: “They see things, and their decision-making is better than the youngsters at the moment. They have played hundreds of league games between them.
“But what impresses the young boys about them is yes they are not breaking into the first team, but their attitude has been good. So if these boys want to make a professional career, they can see it’s not always a smooth ride.”
Diagouraga and Murphy appear to have no future at Leeds under Monk, with both players’ names being struck off the squad list on the matchday programme for the win over Barnsley.
