The Leeds United forward filled his boots for the second string this week.

Leeds United’s under-23 coach Jason Blunt has been speaking to LUTV about the 3-2 victory against Huddersfield Town on Monday, during which summer signing Marcus Antonsson scored a hat-trick.
The Swede arrived at Elland Road with a fine reputation after netting 25 goals in 47 matches for Kalmar. However he has failed to replicate his best form at Elland Road, scoring just three times in 15 appearances to date.
Antonsson’s lack of starts under manager Garry Monk saw him get a run out for the second string this week and he did not waste the opportunity.
“Some of the play through midfield and with Marcus was excellent, some of the combination play and rotation in midfield,” Blunt told LUTV.
“The way the senior professionals applied themselves throughout the game was excellent.”

Antonsson will be hoping his latest performance earns him a chance to impress when Leeds take on Rotherham United this weekend, with a victory needed after the disappointing defeat to Newcastle United last time out.
One great sign for Antonsson’s future is that he is not sulking; instead playing to his full potential knowing full well his chances will come sooner or later.
