Mexico legend Jared Borgetti is confident that Carlos Pena would do well at Rangers.

Rangers are close to signing Mexican midfielder Carlos Pena. The Chivas Guadalajara midfielder is reportedly flying to Glasgow to undergo a medical (Daily Mail) with the Gers.
The player himself has confirmed that he is joining Rangers and has thanked Pedro Caixinha for making the deal possible.
Mexico legend, Jared Borgetti, says that he is confident that the 27-year-old would do well in Scotland.
Pena has been accused of wasting his career with his partying life-style, but Borgetti believes his wild days are behind him.

Borgetti, one of Mexico’s most famous players, says that Pena’s biggest asset is getting behind the striker and supporting the attack.
He adds that Pena has great game awareness, and is tactically very smart. Borgetti also advises him to take his family with him to Scotland.
“But this is a mature player who knows he won’t be able to continue to perform if that is what he is doing,” said Pena, as quoted by The Daily Record (print edition, page 70)
For Carlos to have the best possible experience he should take his family to Scotland. The weather and lifestyle is completely different from Mexico.
“In order for him to give his very best performances I advise he takes his family.
“If he does that he will be free to focus on his football and deliver his best. I know that from my own experience at Bolton.
“Carlos is a really ambitious player. His biggest asset is getting behind the striker and supporting in attack.
“I don’t think he will have any problem playing in the Scottish Premiership. He has great presence and is in great physical shape.
“He knows where to be on the pitch and has great game awareness. He will be able to play in Scotland without any problem, I am confident of that.”

This has been a busy week for Rangers as they confirmed the signing of centre back Bruno Alves on a two-year deal.
Also, midfielder Ryan Jack completed his move from Aberdeen to Ibrox on Thursday. He joined on a free transfer after his contract expired with the Dons.
Pena scored 28 goals in 89 games for Club Leon that saw him earn a move to Guadalajara, where he scored eight goals in 31 appearances.
Rangers finished third in the Scottish Premier League last season, and Caixinha will have to work hard to bring quality players into the side.
