It’s no secret that Jannik Sinner has enjoyed an outstanding season of tennis.
However, one statistic has now emerged which might make an argument for why it’s one of the best in ATP history.
After all, whilst he was forced to split the Grand Slam titles equally with Carlos Alcaraz, what he did when he was actually present on the tour was remarkable.
He lost to just three people all year, and was only narrowly beaten for the year-end world number one spot despite a three-month absence from tournaments too.
If anyone were to argue against this being one of the great tennis seasons, this crucial statistic would swiftly silence them.
Jannik Sinner breaks all-time ATP record
Sinner’s 2025 campaign saw him boast the best points-won rate in the history of the ATP. He was that good.
The Italian began his campaign by defending his Australian Open crown, and had three championship points to win Roland Garros too.
At Wimbledon, he stunned Alcaraz to dethrone the two-time champion, before sadly being dethroned himself in New York.
And yet, despite the mental and physical toll of these Grand Slam events, Sinner still thrived elsewhere, bolstering his record.
He finished the year with a 58-6 record, and TNT Sports have further exemplified the dominance exhibited within many of those matches, writing: “Jannik Sinner won 56.45% of all points he played in 2025… that’s the best in ATP history. If you know your tennis, you will know how insane that is.”
Jannik Sinner’s 2025 season in review
As touched upon earlier, Sinner’s campaign was laden with success.
And, to emphasise just how dominant he and Alcaraz were, there was not a tournament that they both entered where one of the duo did not claim the title.
They met in Paris, at the All-England Club, and in New York, and concluded with an ATP Finals showdown.
Sinner made it to the final of the five biggest events in the tennis calendar, winning three of them alongside a further three ATP titles, one of which was a Masters 1000 event.

It was an exceptional year from an outstanding individual, who is poised to dominate once again in 2026.
