Tottenham Hotspur have been tipped to move for the German forward.

According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is a keen admirer of Hamburg forward Jann-Fiete Arp, and the 17-year-old is arguably the most exciting young striker to have been linked with Tottenham for years.
It would be easy to dismiss Arp as another flash-in-the-pan given his age and inexperience, but the German under-17 international is one of the most prolific forwards in his age range and he has wasted little time proving his worth at senior level.

After coming off the bench to score in only his second appearance for Hamburg against Hertha Berlin, he celebrated his first start with another strike, this time against VfB Stuttgart, and in time he could become one of the best forwards in European football.
This is not a case of jumping the gun. Arp is simply that rare breed of forward who can find the net for fun, as his 37 goals in 45 appearances for Hamburg’s under-17s prove.
He has also managed nine goals in just seven games for the club’s under-19s and already has two in three (and in just 125 minutes) for Hamburg’s first-team.

In short, the Tottenham target is a lethal finisher and he is arguably exactly what Spurs need, a player predominantly for the future but ready to do a job when called upon.
Tottenham already have Harry Kane and Fernando Llorente, so another senior forward desperate to start week in, week out makes little sense given the additional impact of Heung-min Son and Dele Alli.
In contrast, Arp would show patience and understanding and, with a contract that expires in just 18 months, he could also be available for a cut-price fee that is only going to rise once he hits his stride.
