Tottenham Hotspur need Son Heung-min to step up once again.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has told The Mirror that everyone is counting on Son Heung-min to step up in Harry Kane’s absence.
Spurs beat Manchester City 1-0 on Tuesday night, with Son smashing a second half winner to give his side a 1-0 lead heading into the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.
That doesn’t tell the whole story of the game though, as City striker Sergio Aguero had a first half penalty saved by Hugo Lloris, and the worst possible news hit Spurs in the second half.
Harry Kane went into a full-blooded challenge with Fabian Delph, and came off worst as he suffered yet another ankle injury, potentially ending his season early.
Tottenham’s famed trouble finding great cover for Kane has cropped up again, meaning winger Son may once again have to lead the line for Spurs, as he did when Kane picked up an ankle injury in January.
Son, 26, has now hit 18 goals in a superb season, and will be charged with the task of replacing Kane at the most crucial time of the season, with Tottenham vying for a Champions League spot.

Defender Vertonghen has now admitted that everyone is counting on Son to once again step up and replace Kane, with the final stages of the season resting on the South Koean’s shoulders – even if Vertonghen thinks Kane may be back soon.
“Everyone is counting on Sonny,” said Vertonghen. “We’ll have Harry coming back from injury hopefully soon. Everyone needs to step up like we did before. We won I think all of our Premier League games without Harry and hopefully we can do it again,” he added.
