Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United at Wembley on Sunday evening.

Tottenham were the dominant force for the entirety of the second half against United, but they still slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Wembley.
Spurs were denied on countless occasions by David De Gea, and the Spaniard’s showing was the talk of the Tottenham team after the match.
“Yeah, I just said that [that he couldn’t understand how Spurs didn’t win] with a couple of guys, with Michel Vorm,” Vertonghen revealed. “It’s always good to talk to people on the sidelines, to see how they saw it and he saw it the same way as I did.
“After 46, 47 minutes we had two great chances and I thought OK we’re going to win this game, we just need the first goal.
“But we just couldn’t score today. It’s a shame.”

De Gea made multiple stops from Tottenham’s attackers, who weren’t in their usual ruthless form.
Dele Alli and Harry Kane both missed presentable chances, and even though De Gea was outstanding, Spurs are likely to feel their finishing could have been more precise.
Tottenham’s loss to United has meant they have lost ground on Liverpool and Manchester City, but Pochettino’s side are still firmly lodged in the top four.
Spurs are currently in third spot in the top flight standings, and they sit seven points clear of fifth placed Arsenal.
