The Tottenham Hotspur defender wished his former team-mate the best of luck.

Out-of-favour Newcastle United Siem de Jong joined PSV Eindhoven on a season-long loan today.
The 27-year-old has endured an injury-plagued two years at Newcastle following a switch from Ajax in 2014, managing some 442 minutes of first-team football.
The Tottenham Hotspur defender spent five years playing alongside De Jong with Ajax, and the 29-year-old has wished his former team-mate good luck as he joins the Amsterdam club’s Eredivisie rivals.

“Siem has played respectfully and fair! He is enthusiastic and just wants to play football! Good luck friend! (But not too much),” he wrote on Twitter, originally in Dutch.

De Jong managed just one goal in 22 Premier League appearances for Newcastle, and has not been used in any of their four Championship games thus far.
He was signed by Alan Pardew for £6 million two years ago but De Jong managed one league start in his maiden season due to injury.
With Dwight Gayle scoring for fun and Aleksandar Mitrovic eligible for his first game of the season after suspension, there seemed like little need for De Jong on Tyneside.
De Jong, who suffered a hamstring injury in pre-season, is close to full fitness at the moment and will reunite his brother Luuk – who had a loan spell with the Magpies – in Eindhoven.
