The Tottenham Hotspur forward was sensational against Manchester United last night.
Tottenham centre-back Jan Vertonghen spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s superb 3-0 away win at Manchester United last night, and raved about the quality of Lucas Moura, labelling the Brazilian as a ‘nightmare to play against’, as quoted by the London Evening Standard.
The 26-year-old joined Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain in January of this year, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £23.5 million, but he initially struggled to make much of an impact in north London.
Moura announced himself to the Premier League last night, however, with a magnificent match-winning display against United at Old Trafford.
The pacey winger looks like he will go on to become a really important player for Tottenham over the next few years, and Vertonghen explained how highly he rates the Brazilian, after witnessing him in action every day during training, as quoted by the London Evening Standard:
“He is a nightmare to play against. We play against him every day in training and he’s just a nightmare. He works hard, he has goals in him — left foot, right foot — and so much pace. He’s a great player and an even better guy, so everyone is very happy.”
Next up for Tottenham is a trip to Vicarage Road to take on Watford on Sunday, and Moura will be desperate to prove his worth to Mauricio Pochettino once again.
