The Denmark international has been in superb form for Tottenham Hotspur this season.

Tottenham ace Jan Vertonghen spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s comfortable 3-0 FA Cup win over Swansea yesterday, and raved about the quality of Christian Eriksen, highlighting how vital the Dane is to the Spurs side, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The 26-year-old has been instrumental for the Lilywhites this season, chipping in with 11 goals and 10 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions thus far.

Eriksen will be even more important to the Tottenham side during Harry Kane’s absence, and he has noticeably taken on greater levels of responsibility during the last two matches, dropping deeper into midfield from where he can really influence the game.
Vertonghen raved about the quality of his teammate, when speaking to reporters after yesterday’s win, highlighting just how vital he is to the way in which Spurs want to play, as quoted by the club’s official website:

“Christian can score goals like that. He had a great strike after that as well that hit the crossbar. He had a magnificent game and was rewarded for it. He drops a little deeper into midfield and with his passing, he can be vital for us.”
The north London outfit now have a couple of weeks off until they are in action again.
They face a vitally important game against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on April 1st, and a win there would all but seal their place inside the top four and their subsequent qualification for next season’s Champions League.
