Ex-Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen has enjoyed being reminded of the talents of Oliver Skipp on Twitter.
A video was posted from pre-season in 2019, when Tottenham were taking part in the Audi Cup, of Skipp skinning Moussa Sissoko in training with a fine piece of skill.
At the time Skipp was just a fledgling teen, who had been enjoying training with Tottenham’s senior squad, which then included Vertonghen.
And the Belgian international was delighted to watch the piece of skill back, as he was reminded of Skipp’s quality.
Skipp’s reputation has only grown since, and there is hope that the midfielder could make a big impact at Spurs next term.
Jose Mourinho has loaned the youngster out this season and he has been one of the standout players in the Championship with Norwich City.
With Tottenham’s midfield pairing not entirely set, there does seem to be a gap for Skipp in Mourinho’s first-team.
Mourinho has already hailed Skipp as a future potential captain of Spurs.
And it is widely expected that he will be given the chance to show that he has what it takes to make the grade with the North London club next term.
