Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen has equalled Belgium’s all time appearance record.
Belgium cemented their position at the top of the Group H table after earning a thrilling 4-3 victory against Bosnia-Herzegovenia in the World Cup qualifying game.
The Red Devils have been impressive throughout their qualifying campaign, and their 39 goals is the most in European qualifying.
Thomas Meunier opened the scoring for Belgium, but the hosts scored two quick goals to take a 2-1 lead at the break.
Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi and Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Vertonghen scored before Dumic levelled the scoreline 3-3 in the 82nd minute.
However, soon after Yannick Carrasco scored for the visitors to seal the match in their favour.
Vertonghen, who equaled Belgium’s all-time appearance record (equals Jan Ceulemans’ record of 96 caps), took to social networking site Twitter after the match to express his reaction.
The 30-year-old joined Spurs in 2012 and has been a top performer for the club over the years. He is a key player for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, but many feel he should score more often.
Tottenham fans have responded to Vertonghen’s tweet, with many reminding him to score for his club as well.
