Tottenham star Jan Vertonghen was the club’s star man across both legs of their 4-0 aggregate victory over Borussia Dortmund.

So if anybody was going to flout manager Mauricio Pochettino’s rule on dressing room selfies, he would be the right player to get away with it.

Vertonghen posted a picture from Dortmund’s dressing room after the 1-0 away win.

Vertonghen’s second leg performance was almost as crucial as his first.

He produced a remarkable last ditch tackle to deny Dortmund a certain goal, with the game scoreless.

In the first leg he scored one and provided an assist.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino made clear his distaste of dressing room selfies after Arsenal’s celebrations following the 4-2 North London derby victory in December, The Mail reported.

Reaching the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time under his management is at least good reason to make an exception.
