The Eagles frontman may have a point to prove when his side take on Liverpool at Selhurst Park on Saturday.

Liverpool legend Jan Molby has pinpointed the dangerman for Liverpool to keep an eye on when the Reds take on Crystal Palace this weekend, in his column in the Echo.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are on an impressive run right now, storming up to the top three in the Premier League after a run of five wins in six matches. Liverpool went on to dispatch league rivals Tottenham in the League Cup on Tuesday, flexing their squad muscles against the London side.

And Danish favourite Molby has mentioned former Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, now with the Eagles, as a player who could cause the Anfield outfit problems.

“I’ve never been a big fan of away matches at Selhurst Park,” Molby wrote in the Echo. “They’re a side who you don’t really want to meet if they’re on their game.

“We must keep an eye on Christian Benteke. He was an expensive chance that didn’t work for us, but he’s still a good player. He simply wasn’t the sort of player Klopp was looking for.

“But we got very good money for him and no one will have any gripes about the way he conducted himself while he was here.

“Good luck to the lad – just not on Saturday!”

Benteke has already made an impressive start to life at Palace after moving from Mersyside before the end of the transfer window. The Belgian has netted three times in seven matches, and could have had four had he converted his penalty in the defeat to West Ham.

Having also netted a hat trick in the international break earlier in October, you can be sure the 25-year-old will be eager to make an impression against the manager who ended his time at Liverpool.
