Jan Kirchhoff has discussed his time with Sunderland.

Ex-Sunderland midfielder Jan Kirchhoff has told Roker Report that he would ‘love’ to re-sign for Sunderland one day having enjoyed living in the North East.
Kirchhoff, 28, had been with Mainz, Bayern Munich and Schalke in his native Germany before making a move to Sunderland in January 2016.
The 6ft 5in ace, who could play at centre back or in holding midfield, played an important role under Sam Allardyce, helping the club stay in the Premier League.
However, he managed just eight appearances in the 2016-17 campaign, struggling with injuries as Sunderland suffered relegation to the Championship.
Almost a year after his contract expired that summer, Kirchhoff briefly joined up with Bolton Wanderers, and is now back in Germany with FC Magdeburg.
Kirchhoff was an early fan favourite on Wearside with some fine performances, and he has now been asked about a future return to the club.

As unlikely as it seems given his injury problems, Kirchhoff has admitted that he would love to re-sign for Sunderland, noting that he enjoyed living in the North East and still follows the Black Cats.
“I would love to,” said Kirchhoff. “I still follow Sunderland because I enjoyed it so much. I really enjoyed living in the North East and if there was an opportunity to come back, I would always consider that,” he added.
