Glasgow Rangers are keen on bringing Heart of Midlothian winger Jamie Walker to Ibrox.

Former Hearts and Rangers forward Kevin Kyle has predicted that Jamie Walker will want to make the switch between the two clubs this summer, the Evening Times reports.

The Evening Times reports that Rangers have attempted to land the 24-year-old during the summer as Pedro Caixinha continues his overhaul of the Gers squad, and he has so far rejected any contract offers that have come his way from Hearts.

And while Kyle believes that Hearts do not need the money that the Light Blues are offering to put on the table to sign Walker, he suggested that a move may still go through if the wide-man has dreams of playing for his boyhood club.

“I would imagine, knowing Rangers and Hearts, with Hearts not short of money and Rangers trying to rebuild, I don’t think it will come down to money,” he told the Evening Times.

“I think it will come down to the player’s desire to fulfil a boyhood dream. I don’t think he will be going to Rangers on any more than what Hearts are offering him so I don’t think it is about money.

“But I know that he is a boyhood Rangers fan and he attends Rangers games when he gets the opportunity so I would presume it is a lifelong ambition for Jamie to play for Rangers. I am sure he will want that deal to happen and if it does then good luck to him,” he went on to add.

Given that Kyle believes that Hearts will not feel compelled to take the money on offer, it would arguably become a great coup for Caixinha if he manages to bring him to Ibrox this summer.

Walker was excellent at Tynecastle last term, scoring 12 times in the Scottish Premiership and contributing a couple of assists also.

And after signing a number of players who are previously unproven in Scotland, adding another player who knows exactly what it takes to thrive in the division may prove to be an excellent piece of business from the Gers – if they are able to strike a deal.
