Tottenham must look to Jamie Vardy.
Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a blow with Harry Kane ruled out of action for several weeks.
Their options up front are slim, with Fernando Llorente uninspiring, and then youngsters Troy Parrott and Kazaiah Sterling coming into consideration.
Spurs really need to look at buying a striker, and should turn their attentions to Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.
Vardy is 32, and is now three years on from inspiring Leicester to the Premier League title.
Few Foxes fans could begrudge him if he left at this point, abandoning what is now a mid-table side for another shot at chasing trophies.
Vardy might have one or two years left in him at the top level, perhaps more, and Spurs should offer him one last shot at leaving Leicester for a top level side.
Vardy has experience in the Champions League, yet is not cup tied, and poses more of a threat that Llorente can.
He knows Kane from the England set up, and would accept sharing a role with him when the club’s top scorer returns.
Vardy has seven goals in 18 Premier League games this season, recently scoring winners over Chelsea and Everton.
Leicester might not want to let him go. Tottenham should aim to make an offer the Foxes can’t refuse, and give their season a lifeline.
