The Newcastle United Under-23 side won against their Sunderland counterparts on Monday.
Newcastle United defender Jamie Sterry has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the club’s Under-23 side’s win against their Sunderland counterparts on Monday evening.
The Newcastle Under-23 side hammered their Sunderland counterparts 5-0 at St. James’ Park in their Premier League 2 Division Two game.
Sterry started the match and played well, and the 22-year-old right-back has taken to Twitter to revel in the win.
The youngster has also stated on Twitter that he is working very hard to push on, which Newcastle fans will find very encouraging.
Sterry is a very talented and promising young right-back, but the 22-year-old has made only a handful of appearances for the Newcastle first team so far in his career.
There is no doubt, though, that the Englishman has a lot of potential, and performances such as against the Sunderland Under-23 side will make him better and will see put him on the radar of Newcastle first-team manager Rafael Benitez.
Meanwhile, The Chronicle has reported that Newcastle turned down an offer from Oxford United for 21-year-old goalkeeper Freddie Woodman earlier this month.
