Rob Elliot claimed that Jamie Sterry’s behaviour on his return to Newcastle United training with disgraceful.
Jamie Sterry has confirmed on Twitter that he has returned to Newcastle United training.
Sterry has been out with injury recently, which has halted his progression at St. James’ Park.
The young defender only returned from a loan spell at Coventry City in January, and expressed hopes of breaking into Newcastle’s first-team before the end of the season.
However, Sterry has not been able to represent Newcastle due to his fitness troubles.
And the prospect was clearly delighted to return to training yesterday, as he steps up his recovery.
Rob Elliot joked that Sterry’s behaviour in Newcastle training had been a disgrace.
Whether Sterry will have a chance of featuring for Newcastle before this campaign is over remains to be seen.
Newcastle are currently under pressure to make sure they are promoted back to the Premier League.
Rafael Benitez’s side lead the way in the Championship, as things stand, and only a major collapse over the final few games would see them miss out on a top two spot.
