Newcastle United fans thought they were in for an exciting summer, as it seemed that the club were nearing a big-money takeover.
The Magpies were the source of interest from a Saudi-led consortium seeking to finally oust Mike Ashley from power at St James’ Park.
Big-name players and managers were linked with the club, as Newcastle seemingly prepared to have a big-spending summer thanks to new investment.
In the end, the deal fell apart as the Premier League kiboshed a deal, and Ashley remains in charge of Newcastle despite his desire to sell.
Now, The Shields Gazette report that a letter has been sent by the Newcastle Consortium Supporters Limited to the Premier League, sharing their anger at the situation.
They claim that halting the £300million deal was against UK anti-competition law, with Magpies fans clearly not letting this situation slide.

One of the men involved in the takeover bid was Jamie Reuben, who stepped down from a directorship role at Queens Park Rangers just days ago.
Reuben took to Twitter to react to the new development by suggesting that Newcastle have the ‘best fans’, seemingly still showing great love for the club even if his hopes of owning part of the Magpies fell away.
