Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino needs to resist the temptation to rest players on Wednesday evening.

Tottenham have endured a demanding schedule of fixtures, with their squad now stretched.

Spurs’ have a rising amount of injury problems, with their team now getting down to the bare bones.

However, Tottenham have kept on winning, and picked up yet another victory at the weekend, as they edged past Burnley.

Spurs now face a North London derby against Arsenal in Wednesday evening in the Carabao Cup.

And Redknapp has suggested that Pochettino should name a full strength team at the Emirates Stadium.

“Eric Dier became the latest casualty on a mounting injury list on Saturday but Pochettino must resist any temptations to rest players,” Pochettino said.

“Arsenal themselves are thin on the ground in defence, lost their unbeaten record and will have had 24 hours less preparation time than their rivals.

“Tottenham have to pick the strongest team and find a way to grind out victory.

“Pochettino has previously dismissed this competition but silverware is the only gap on his c.v. Win at the Emirates and Spurs will prove they are ready to win a trophy.”

Tottenham were recently beaten by Arsenal in the Premier League, but a victory here would go some way to avenging that defeat.

Spurs are yet to win a trophy since Pochettino took over, but this season’s League Cup may well be their best chance yet to end their wait for silverware.
