The Tottenham Hotspur man is on his way to becoming a great, says the Sky Sports pundit.
Jamie Redknapp has suggested to The Mail that Tottenham Hotspur and England star Dele Alli is a better player than Steven Gerrard was at the same age.
The 20-year-old has emerged as one of Europe’s finest young talents following a wonderful first season at Tottenham last season.
Alli, who has netted twice in six Premier League starts this season, finished the 2015-16 campaign with 10 goals and 12 assists in all competitions.

At the age of 21, Steven Gerrard broke into the Liverpool side and managed to score four goals from 31 games across all competitions, though he played a little deeper.
Redknapp, a former team-mate of Gerrard’s at Liverpool, has now intimated that the Tottenham man is further along in his development that the iconic midfielder was at the same age, noting his performance in the Three Lions’ 0-0 draw with Slovenia.

“Dele Alli is the one player who you think is going to make something happen. We’re blessed to have this 20-year-old in the national team,” he told The Mail.
“Not even Steven Gerrard was displaying that kind of authority on the pitch at that age.
“Alli didn’t even play as well as he can, but you can tell the other players have respect for him. He can be England’s linchpin for many years to come. I was disappointed to see him come off.”
Of course, Alli is a very fine talent and one which only get better. He may be that bit more rounded than a 20-year-old Gerrard, but it’s not how you start – it’s how you finish, and the Liverpool legend finished up his career in England as a true great. How Spurs fans will be hoping to say the same about Alli when all is said and done.
