Jamie Redknapp thinks Brendan Rodgers could be the man for Tottenham Hotspur if they lose to Everton tonight.
Sunday saw two managerial departures in the Premier League as Chelsea and Leicester City both made changes.
Graham Potter and Brendan Rodgers have been moved on and are now available for other teams to consider.
Tottenham have an opening of their own and some have wondered whether Potter or Rodgers could head to North London.
Pundit and former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp has now told Sky Sports (02/04, 7:25pm) that he thinks Rodgers could be the man for Spurs.
Redknapp noted that Tottenham wanted Rodgers many years ago, but it just didn’t work out back then.
Redknapp added that he thinks Tottenham could make a managerial change if they lose to Everton tonight.
The former Spurs man feels the decision to stick with Cristian Stellini as a caretaker manager is a ‘really strange move’.
Redknapp also feels that Rodgers is a ‘good manager’ who has won trophies and could get the Spurs squad to really respond to him.
“There was dialogue with Tottenham a few years ago with Daniel Levy, and that was something they maybe looked at, thought maybe they could go down that route. It didn’t work out at the time,” said Redknapp.
“But it does feel like they’ve pretty much made a stand, they’re going to go with Stellini until the end of the season. For me, that’s a really strange move considering he was there with the previous manager. I don’t think that makes any sense to me and I think actually we’ll learn a lot more after tomorrow night. If they were to go to Everton and get three points, there’s every chance they’ll stick with it. It might be a situation where they go: ‘we’re in a good position here, we can still get top-four’. If they were to lose tomorrow, they may look at it and go: ‘you know what, Brendan Rodgers is a good manager, he’s won things, he knows what he’s doing, very close to winning the Premier League many years ago with Liverpool, he knows what he’s doing and players really seem to respond to him.”
“So Tottenham might look at that one as well. Who knows? Football’s mad. It’s bonkers, we never quite know what can happen,” he added.

Brendan Rodgers gives Tottenham something to think about
Rodgers won two league titles, two cups and three league cups during his time as Celtic boss.
The Northern Irishman also won an FA Cup and a Community Shield with Leicester City, so he has indeed won trophies in recent years.
That’s more than Tottenham can say, even after hiring the likes of Antonio Conte and Jose Mourinho.
Daniel Levy is known to be a big fan of Rodgers and even wanted him to become Spurs boss back in 2012.
Now available after leaving Leicester, Rodgers could be on the Tottenham radar but they can’t ignore his recent results.
Leicester took just one point from Rodgers’ last six games and now sit in the Premier League relegation zone.
It all turned sour for Rodgers in the end, just as it did for him at Liverpool, and Tottenham need to think long and hard about whether he is really the right man for the job.
