Jamie Redknapp believes that Tottenham Hotspur could be the perfect club for Wilfried Zaha to join this summer.

Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that Wilfried Zaha is bound to attract interest in the summer and insisted that Tottenham may be the ideal club for the Crystal Palace winger to join during the upcoming window.

Palace ended the campaign well clear of the bottom three in the Premier League after starting the season with seven consecutive defeats in the top flight. And their resurgence was largely down to the 25-year-old, who was simply superb throughout the campaign.

Zaha finished the season with nine goals in the league, including five in his last six games as Palace finished 11th in the table, 11 points clear of the bottom three. And Redknapp insisted that Spurs – who The Sun reported last month were amongst the teams keen on the £50 million-rated Zaha – should do all they can to sign the forward during the summer.

“Wilfried Zaha is a top-six manager’s dream — a game-changer who on his day is unplayable,” he told the Daily Mail.

“This is not the raw talent who could not cut it at Manchester United. Zaha has gone up a level and is embracing being Palace’s main man. He is the best player outside the top six and although he said on Sunday that he wants to stay at Selhurst Park, he’s bound to attract interest.

Mauricio Pochettino manager

“Tottenham, who have looked at him before, could be the ideal destination for him.”

With Palace likely to demand a huge fee before they allow Zaha to head for a new challenge, Mauricio Pochettino may be wary about pursuing a deal for the former Manchester United ace.

If he has a similar budget to the ones that he has had in previous windows, then there may not be too much more in the pot after a deal for Zaha without selling some of their key players.

And with the Daily Mail reporting last month that the likes of Mousa Dembele, Toby Alderweireld, Victor Wanyama and Danny Rose may all be sold this summer, Pochettino may well have some areas of his squad that require much more urgent attention.

But if Spurs have the funds to go after Zaha, his form this season certainly suggests that he could be a superb signing for the club after they enjoyed another encouraging campaign.
