Redknapp believes that Tom Davies’ emergence has also helped bring the best out of Ross Barkley.

Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that Tom Davies has been the catalyst for Everton’s upturn in form in recent times, and suggested that his emergence has helped bring the best out of Ross Barkley.

The 18-year-old has started the Toffees’ last three Premier League games, and has begun to establish himself as an important player in Ronald Koeman’s squad.

During that run, Everton have secured three consecutive wins, scoring eight and conceding none, and Davies has proved invaluable in that time, contributing one goal and two assists. And Redknapp explained just how impressed he has been with the youngster, before outlining the impact that he has had on his teammates.

“Since Ronald Koeman has brought Tom Davies into the side they have looked vibrant, quick and great to watch,” he said, as reported by the Mail.

“After starring against Manchester City last week, the 18-year-old set up Seamus Coleman’s winner at Crystal Palace.

“Ross Barkley has also benefited playing with Davies. He is enjoying the fact that he is no longer the new kid on the block and is embracing his role as Everton’s main man.”

The recent run has allowed Everton to begin to break away from the best of the rest table that was forming behind the top six in the top flight.

They now find themselves four points clear of West Brom in eighth and just five points adrift of Manchester United, who sit sixth.

And with just one of the top six to play before April, Koeman will be urging his side to take advantage of their current form by building as much momentum as possible going into a tough run of fixtures to end the campaign.
