Tottenham Hotspur have moved to second in the Premier League table.

Tottenham Hotspur have moved to second in the Premier League table after a brilliant performance against West Brom at White Hart Lane. Harry Kane scored a hat-trick and an own goal from Gareth McAuley saw Spurs run away with a 4-0 victory that sent out another message that they are in the title running this season.

It was a display that will have their title rivals concerned and Jamie Redknapp, himself a former Spurs player, has been commenting on that. He told Sky Sports that the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool would have really taken note this afternoon:

“This result will have sent shockwaves through the league today.

“I’m sure Man Utd and Liverpool will have been watching it thinking, ‘Wow, Tottenham are on the march. They’re flying.’”

He went on to discuss three players in particular, all in the Spurs midfield:

“They are a really powerful side and they are looking better [than last season], Wanyama has added to that. He’s a massive presence in that team.

“Christian Eriksen was exceptional in midfield, Alli just gets better and better. Fast, incisive, hard to stop. West Brom couldn’t get near them, they were chasing shadows.”

Wanyama, signed from Southampton in the summer, has been a massive addition to the Spurs side and has helped the side perform much better on a consistent basis.

Eriksen and Alli on the other hand had a struggle to get into the swing of things at the start of the season.

But in recent weeks the pair have been in fine form and the improvement in Spurs’ results is no coincidence.

If these players can maintain such form, then Tottenham will undoubtedly be in the final title running.
