Jamie Redknapp has criticised Everton for their work in the transfer market.

Pundit Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that he has serious questions over Everton’s summer transfer business, following their 3-0 home defeat Tottenham.
The Toffees were hammered by Spurs on Saturday afternoon, as Harry Kane’s cross looped over Jordan Pickford for the opening goal, before Christian Eriksen converted from close range after poor defending by Cuco Martina.
After the break, Tottenham made it 3-0 thanks to Kane’s second, and in truth, Mauricio Pochettino’s men could, and possibly should, have won by a greater margin, having dominated the clash at Goodison Park.

That means it’s two league defeats in a row for Everton, and whilst they have endured a difficult start to the season fixture-wise, having faced trips to Manchester City and Chelsea before hosting Tottenham, fans are a little concerned.
After splashing the cash on the likes of Pickford, Michael Keane, Davy Klaassen, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Nikola Vlasic, Wayne Rooney and Sandro Ramirez, Everton fans were looking forward to the new season, but problems have emerged.
Manager Ronald Koeman has struggled to settle on a four or a five-man defence, whilst there is a blatant lack of pace in the Everton side, which has ultimately been exacerbated by the signing of Rooney and Sigurdsson.
With just two goals scored in four games, Everton’s start to the season has been disappointing going forward, and pundit Jamie Redknapp has criticised Toffees boss Koeman, both for his work in the transfer market and his comments after Saturday’s defeat.

Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that Everton’s side is unbalanced, possessing too many similar attacking players and no target man, whilst also admitting he was ‘startled’ to hear Koeman say that Everton were ‘too nice’ given the experienced Premier League players they have in midfield.
“Everton may have splashed out almost £150million this summer but Ronald Koeman will have gone to bed on Saturday night bemoaning the lack of balance in his team,” said Redknapp. “Rather than replacing Romelu Lukaku, it seems Everton have tried to emulate neighbours Liverpool in spreading the goals around. Wayne Rooney, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Davy Klaassen are all similar players who can thrive as No 10s but where is the target man?”
“Think back to Joe Royle, Graeme Sharp, Duncan Ferguson. Everton fans love a commanding centre forward but Sandro Ramirez does not give them that presence at the top of the team. The problems run deeper than the forwards. I was startled to hear Koeman say his team were ‘too nice’ in the 3-0 defeat by Tottenham. How are Everton losing midfield battles with warhorses like Idrissa Gueye and Morgan Schneiderlin in their team? On paper, Everton’s transfer business suggests they can break into the top six. In practice, they have left themselves short,” he added.
