Jamie Redknapp has said on Sky Sports that he noticed that Jose Mourinho did not look interested during his last game in charge of Tottenham Hotspur.

Mourinho was generally fairly boisterous throughout his time at Tottenham on the sidelines and could regularly be heard encouraging his players.

Spurs even released ‘Mourinho cam’ footage, where they would focus in on his actions in the dugout.

However, Redknapp says that Mourinho was far less active in his technical area when Tottenham took on Everton last week.

Despite Spurs putting in a poor display, Mourinho apparently looked a glum figure.

And Redknapp admitted that he felt it was the beginning of the end for Mourinho, after spotting his body language last week.

“I think with Tottenham and Daniel Levy has done it before. I’m not surprised,” he said.

“I think with Jose you could see a manager who is unhappy,” Mason said.

“Once things goes wrong and he starts to blame the players I think they probably looked at it and they thought we can’t have him taking charge of the next seven games so they thought make a change sooner rather than later.

“I’ve met Ryan. I like Ryan Mason but for him to be in this position I bet he can’t quite believe it. But these are seven games that could shape the rest of his life.

“I could see [with Jose] in his body language and his mannerisms. On the line against Everton on Friday night he was sitting down, not interested.

“And once Jose gets to that point there’s only one way it’s going to and it’s not going to be the right way.”

Mason managed to get off to a winning start in charge of Tottenham last night.

Spurs came from behind to beat Southampton, as they picked up a 2-1 win to keep their top four hopes alive.

Mason’s next task will be a big one, as Tottenham take on Manchester City in the League Cup final on Sunday.
