Jamie Redknapp has commented on Steven Gerrard discussing Rangers.

Pundit Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that he feels Steven Gerrard is ‘ready’ for the Rangers challenge after seeing him speak about the club on Saturday night.
Gerrard, 37, was appointed Rangers manager last month but only officially starts his post on Friday, having finished up his commitments as a pundit with BT Sport on Saturday.
Gerrard was in Kiev as his former club Liverpool took on Real Madrid in the Champions League final, and the Reds lost 3-1 as Gerrard had to watch on in anguish.

Now, Gerrard can properly start his time as Rangers manager, in which he be charged with the task of driving the club forward and attempting to chase down Celtic.
Two signings have already been made in Allan McGregor and Scott Arfield, and whilst Gerrard will certainly be given more money to spend, some question whether he is really prepared for such a difficult challenge.
Now, pundit Jamie Redknapp – a former teammate of Gerrard at Liverpool – has told the Daily Mail that he can tell Gerrard is ready for the challenge just by watching him speak about the club.

Redknapp claims that, when he saw Gerrard talking about Rangers during BT Sport’s coverage of the Champions League final, he noticed that his ‘eyes opened wide’ at the mere mention of Rangers, showing great passion beyond talking about his boyhood club being in the Champions League final.
“I saw the look in Steven’s eyes when he was asked about Rangers – he is ready for this,” said Redknapp. “Watching Steven Gerrard talking about the Champions League final on Saturday night was one thing, seeing his eyes open wide when he was asked about taking over Rangers was something else. He is ready for this,” he added.
