Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that he is currently suffering the ‘worst feeling’ he has since taking over as manager.

Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports that everyone he speaks to about Tottenham Hotspur’s Mauricio Pochettino stresses how much of a perfectionist the Argentine is.

Pochettino has expressed his frustrations this week, with some of his comments appearing worrying.

Pochettino has admitted that he currently feels as bad as he ever has while being in charge at Tottenham.

Spurs have actually made their best start to the season in the Premier League ever, but Redknapp feels that Pochettino is within his rights to feel aggrieved.

The pundit said: “Pochettino is a perfectionist. Everyone I’ve ever spoken to who has worked with him says that his attention to detail is unbelievable, so little things like this are bound to irk him.

“The club need to keep him happy and satisfy his ambition, but not by doing anything special. I’m not saying they need to go out and spend £200m or £300m, but they have to deliver what they say they are going to deliver. If he wants something, give it to him. He’s special.

“There is a lot of negativity around the club now which is not needed. This should be the most exciting time in Tottenham’s history with the new stadium, but the delay is embarrassing as much as anything.

Mauricio Pochettino, candidate to replace Zinedine Zidane as coach of Real Madrid, in the presentation of his book A New World, on June 1 2018 in Barcelona, Spain.

“I know some things are out of their control, but if you’re going to move into a new stadium, you have to be ready.”

Tottenham’s failure to sort their new ground out could be a big frustration this evening, when they take on Manchester City at Wembley.

The Wembley pitch looks in a poor condition after an NFL game was played there yesterday, which could leave Spurs’ struggling to play their usual possession game.

If Tottenham can manage to beat City this evening, they will move above Pep Guardiola’s side and into third place in the Premier League table.
