Tottenham Hotspur have not been the same side since Dembele left four months ago.

Jamie Redknapp was a guest on Sky Sports’ broadcast of Bournemouth’s win over Tottenham yesterday, and suggested that it will be vitally important for Mauricio Pochettino to replace the recently departed Mousa Dembele this summer.
The Belgium international left Spurs for China in January, and ever since then, their form has dipped noticeably.
Dembele offered Tottenham something that no one else in the squad can, and Pochettino must surely spend big on an adequate replacement this summer, if he is to take his club to another level.
And Redknapp suggested that Poch must act this summer, if Spurs are to take the next step forward in their development, when speaking during Sky Sports’ broadcast of Bournemouth’s win over Tottenham yesterday:

“I think they need to buy in the summer, get some strength in midfield because they’ve lost Dembele, who for me was one of the best, so they need to get someone in who can get them to that next level.”
Replacing someone of Dembele’s ilk will be easier said than done for Spurs, but there are players out there who would undoubtedly improve them, including the likes of Nicolo Barella, Donny van de Beek and Jack Grealish.
Quite who Pochettino is targeting, however, remains to be seen, but Tottenham fans will be praying that Daniel Levy backs the Argentine this summer, because if he doesn’t, they will undoubtedly lose ground on the top two next season.
