Danny Rose didn’t feature in Tottenham’s 2-0 defeat against Arsenal on Saturday.
Former Tottenham player turned football pundit Jamie Redknapp is not convinced that Danny Rose will be staying at the north London club for a long period.
Rose, who has just returned to full fitness after missing out 10 weeks of action through knee injury, was left out of the squad against Arsenal on Saturday.
Spurs’ title hopes were hit by a 2-0 defeat at the hands of their derby rivals, but once again Rose’s future has come under intense speculation.
Redknapp fears that the end is nigh for the left-back in north London, although Spurs insist there has not been a bust-up between the player and the manager.
The Sky Sports pundit has hailed Rose as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League, and says that he is being tracked by other clubs.
“I don’t think it’s going to end well from a Spurs point of view,” said Redknapp, as quoted by the Sunday Mirror (Printed edition, 19th November – page 70).
“I’m sure he’s probably been tapped up by other clubs because he’s one of the best left-backs around.”
According to reports from the Mirror, United are ready to pay £40 million for the 27-year-old, and could also offer Luke Shaw as a makeweight (Sunday Mirror; printed edition – page 70).
United would be willing to double Rose’s wages of £65,000-a-week wages.
