Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports’ live post-match coverage of Tottenham’s win over Brighton (broadcast on 23/4 from 19:30) that Spurs’ new stadium has revitalised Christian Eriksen after the Dane scored the only goal in the game with a stunning strike.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men remain in the driving seat to secure a spot in the top four after beating the Seagulls 1-0 at their new home. It looked for a long time like the goal was not coming as the visitors defended extremely well and rode their luck, but Eriksen produced a moment of magic to secure the three points.

The 27-year-old picked the ball up outside the box and launched a wicked strike into the bottom corner with his left foot to ensure that Tottenham still boast a flawless record at their magnificent ground. They are yet to drop a point or concede a goal since moving in.

And having provided two goals and three assists across the four games, Redknapp suggested that Eriksen looks like a different player again thanks to the move.

“This stadium’s breathed life into him. Til he came here, he was having a bit of a spell if you like, Christian Eriksen. He had seven attempts today and this [the goal] was the important one,” he told Sky Sports.

“He is a brilliant technical player off either foot, and that is a great strike. Unstoppable. And it seemed to get faster as it went into the net.”

Eriksen looks set to end the campaign with another outstanding return, having scored seven times and provided 12 assists in the top flight, as well as two goals and four assists in the Champions League.

But heading into the most recent international break, there did seem to be some concerns about his form as he had not quite looked himself and had endured his longest run without having a direct hand in a goal of the season.

However, Eriksen now looks to be rediscovering something like his best form. And with a Champions League semi-final on the horizon, that could be fantastic news for Tottenham.
