Manchester United’s Anthony Martial scores their first goal
Anthony Martial scored his first goal of the season for Manchester United this weekend in their 1-1 draw with Stoke City.
The Frenchman curled in an excellent strike late in the second half which appeared to have given the Red Devils the winner.
An equaliser from Joe Allen cancelled out his goal and left United ruing a missed opportunity to record a third successive home win before the international break.

Martial had come on as a second half substitute, and has been used sparingly so far by new boss Jose Mourinho.
Pundit Jamie Redknapp told The Mail that while he is sure Martial can be an asset, he must ask himself why he is not involved.
He said: “There is no question United need to make more use of him — especially given their lack of pace up front — but you can’t blame Jose Mourinho for leaving him out so often.
“Martial has been inconsistent when he has played and has also been in and out of the French team. I think he needs to look at himself.”

Martial’s bit-part involvement is in part down to his international selection in the summer. While he did not play much for France, his time at the tournament meant he missed the first pre-season under Jose Mourinho.
The United boss is still trying to work out his best XI, with Wayne Rooney recently omitted, and new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan struggling for playing time. Martial has still made four Premier League starts, with two appearances off the bench.
Martial’s goal will lift his confidence and remind Mourinho he can make an impact, and the international break may be coming at just the wrong time for him.
