At Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers, Steven Gerrard can use what he learned from the Celtic boss to affect him in the Scottish Premiership, reckons Jamie Redknapp.

Jamie Redknapp has told The Daily Mail that new Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is well placed to compete with Brendan Rodgers in the Scottish Premiership after previously playing under the now-Celtic manager.
Gerrard, who was named as Graeme Murty’s successor at Ibrox earlier this month, spent three years playing under the successful Celtic boss at Liverpool, before leaving in 2015.
But the pair are now rivals by association of their respective Old Firm clubs, and Redknapp reckons that the 37-year-old iconic midfielder must have picked up some priceless pearls of wisdom from Rodgers which he could now use against him in Glasgow.

He told The Daily Mail: “I also asked him if there had been a problem with Brendan Rodgers. I’m sure people now will ask him many times in Scotland about how they worked together.
“If Brendan gave away too many secrets, then Stevie will be making sure he uses them against him very soon. It’s funny how the football world works.”
It is fascinating to see how Gerrard copes against his former mentor next season.
Celtic have won two successive domestic trebles under Rodgers, so the Reds legend, who has never managed a senior football team, has a monumental task ahead of him.
But if Gerrard is half as good as a manager as he was during his playing days then surely Rangers will get a lot better – they need to.
