Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-3 against West Ham on Wednesday.
Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first defeat in 11 games in all competitions after they were beaten 2-3 by West Ham in the fourth round of Carabao Cup clash.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp feels that Spurs have wasted a good opportunity of winning a silverware this season.
Tottenham were leading 2-0 at half time, thanks to the goals from Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli, but an inspired performance from the Hammers swung the tie in their favour.
Redknapp says that Spurs were not only complacent but there also “was too much arrogance” in Pochettino’s side.
Spurs went into the game on the back of a strong 4-1 victory against Liverpool. However, Redknapp feels that their performance against West Ham was a “shocker”.
The former Tottenham player did acknowledge that Spurs’s progress in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup held more significance than the Carabao Cup.
“I’d go as far as to there was too much arrogance from Tottenham,” said Redknapp to Sky Sports.
“But today’s performance was a shocker. To go from being two goals up and completely in control to losing the game showed signed of arrogance and complacency.
“I was pleased Mauricio Pochettino didn’t try and style it out because they were poor in the second half.”
