Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi is struggling for playing time.

Pundit Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi is ‘the next superstar’ – but he needs to be playing first-team football.
Chelsea have had problems blooding their young players in recent years, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek still struggling for first-team football under new boss Maurizio Sarri.
Nathaniel Chalobah moved on as a result of being sat on the sidelines, whilst Tammy Abraham has gone out on loan to Aston Villa in search of playing time.
The latest homegrown talent coming through the ranks is wide man Hudson-Odoi, with the 18-year-old their brightest young hope having joined way back in 2007.
Hudson-Odoi showed real promise in pre-season, and many believed that he would end up playing first-team football under Sarri this season.
However, the teenager hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League action this season, and his only appearances have come in the Europa League.

The Birmingham Mail recently claimed that Villa want to land Hudson-Odoi on loan thanks to John Terry’s input, and pundit Jamie Redknapp has called him ‘the next superstar’, summing up how much of a great signing he would be for Villa whilst urging Chelsea to play him or lose him, as Manchester City did with Jadon Sancho.
“It was a shame not to see Callum Hudson-Odoi at least on the bench for Chelsea. This kid is the next superstar,” said Redknapp. “He is full of confidence, loves to run at defenders and capped a brilliant display against PAOK with his first senior goal. He also took the time last week to meet Chelsea’s Under 10s.”
“Maurizio Sarri simply has to find a way to give him more minutes. Jadon Sancho has set a precedent. Young players are willing to move abroad to play and Chelsea risk losing someone special,” he added.
