Pundit Jamie Redknapp has told the Daily Mail that he thinks clubs may test Wolves’ stance on winger Adama Traore this summer.
Wolves beat West Ham United 2-0 away from home on Saturday evening, and Traore’s influence was frankly remarkable.
Nuno’s side were in control but lacking cutting edge, and he threw on Traore with around half an hour to play – and what an impact he made.
Traore drove to the byline and whipped in a superb cross for Raul Jimenez to score, before his quick feet played a role in Matt Doherty crossing for Pedro Neto’s stunning volley.
Traore wasn’t on the pitch for long, but he showed off his quality with a game-changing cameo – and he has been receiving huge plaudits ever since.
Now, pundit Redknapp has suggested that clubs could try and sign the former Barcelona talent this summer, praising his match-winning impact.
Redknapp added that Traore should start wherever he plays, and cannot be an impact substitute because he is simply too good.
“He had a match-winning effect and I cannot help but wonder if any clubs will test Wolves for Traore in the next transfer window,” said Redknapp. “What the 24-year-old will want is to be a nailed-down starter wherever he is. Nobody wants to be seen as merely an impact sub,” he added.

The club most strongly linked with Traore is Liverpool. The Mirror recently noted that Jurgen Klopp is ‘desperate’ to bring the wide man to Anfield, with an enquiry allegedly lodged.
However, Traore surely wouldn’t start for the Reds; they already have Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah out wide, so guaranteed playing time would be hard to come by.
With the global pandemic hitting Liverpool’s budget, it’s hard to see them splashing the cash this summer, and Wolves are under no pressure to sell Traore, so him heading to Merseyside seems unlikely – for now at least.
