Pundit Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports (19/07, 3:50pm) that he thinks Giovani Lo Celso will be a star for Tottenham Hotspur next season.

Spurs took on Leicester City on Sunday afternoon, and recorded a 3-0 win as Harry Kane added a brace to a James Justin own goal.

That’s now four wins in the last five games for Tottenham, who seem to be finding some momentum under Jose Mourinho out of nowhere.

Kane and Son Heung-min grab the headlines, but playmaker Lo Celso also deserves huge praise for his recent performances.

The Argentinian’s loan move from Real Betis has already been turned permanent, and it’s no great surprise after showing real promise this season.

Lo Celso has great technical ability and vision in the final third, producing imaginative passes to try and create for Kane and Son.

The 24-year-old is also prepared to put in the work though, and has a level of snide in his game that Tottenham fans have really liked.

Now, Redknapp has predicted ‘big things’ from Lo Celso next season, once Mourinho adds another body to his midfield – which would be Southampton’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg according to The Guardian.

Redknapp thinks Spurs aren’t happy with Tanguy Ndombele, but feels Lo Celso is primed for a big season next term, possibly alongside Hojbjerg as Mourinho targets a new midfielder.

“I think we will probably actually see the best of [Lo Celso] next season,” said Redknapp. “He’s been in and out of the team, he was injured when he first came, so it’s not been easy.”

“I do believe long term, I’m sure Jose looks at that midfield and thinks: ‘I need someone else in there next year’. I’m sure they’ll buy someone. They’ve not been that happy with Ndombele, that’s obvious so there will be players I’m sure coming to Tottenham in that midfield. But Lo Celso will be one next year, I expect big things from him,” he added.
